Safety Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Promote a proactive culture of workplace safety throughout the organization.
  • Conduct routine safety and environmental inspections and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead engaging safety meetings and deliver employee safety training programs.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for managers, employees, and contractors regarding workplace safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and safety records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support a safe and healthy work environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong observational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience conducting inspections, audits, or workplace safety activities preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively teach safety concepts.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with employees, leaders, and contractors at all levels.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.

About the Role

This is a safety-sensitive position. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing all required background checks and drug screening. A positive drug test will result in a job offer being rescinded or, for active employees, termination, even if the individual possesses a valid medical marijuana license.
