Safety Coordinator
About the role
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for safety reporting, safety assessments, scheduling and issuing CPR/First Aid classes, coordinating safety trainings, addressing safety risks, maintaining surveillance camera and badge access systems, and upholding and improving the organization-wide safety program.
Responsibilities
- Conduct safety reporting and compile data to produce accurate reports by deadline
- Coordinate and support the annual safety assessment process, including scheduling site assessments, documenting findings, and tracking corrective actions
- Maintain the incident report log and follow up on incident documentation and track trends for review
- Schedule and issue CPR and First Aid classes across the organization and track staff certification expirations
- Coordinate and deliver safety trainings to address identified risks
- Identify and address safety risks and escalate significant risks to the Director of Business Operations
- Maintain surveillance camera systems and badge access systems
- Uphold and improve the organization-wide safety program and support compliance with safety policies, processes, and procedures
- Accountable for adherence to all organizational health and safety policies and implementation of all safety practices and procedures at assigned work location(s)
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and minimum 2 years related experience
- Ability to work regular program hours with some evenings, nights, and weekends
- Effective organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of safety program best practices
- Ability to maintain accurate records and produce timely reports
- Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be able to pass any and all required background screens and drug screens at any time
- Must have satisfactory driving record, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance for operation of a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently certified in CPR/First Aid
- Experience with surveillance camera and/or badge access systems
- Experience or knowledge of Boys & Girls Club movement
- Bilingual
