Responsibilities

• Plan health and safety program protocols
• Work with HR Manager to determine Risk Management and Safety initiatives
• Educate supervisors, managers, and other leaders about health and safety standards
• Coordinate and lead safety training sessions for all employees and ensure new and annual safety training is completed
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local laws and regulations
• Verify employees are consistently following safety protocols
• Analyze health and safety data
• Maintain and post required OSHA log postings
• Conduct and participate in regular safety inspections and audits at all locations
• Develop and maintain accurate records, including training, inspections, and incident reports, to provide safety metrics
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions
• Collaborate with HR Manager on Worker’s Compensation claims and injury/illness data to improve safety metrics
• Monitor and ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Assist in the development of emergency response plans and conduct and coordinate safety drills
• Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies during safety inspections and audits
• Provide guidance and support to employees on safety-related issues and concerns
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety coordinator or similar role
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and other safety standards
• Certification in First Aid and CPR

• Proof of insurance and valid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle record

Physical/Environmental Demands

• Ability to navigate various work environments indoors and outdoors
• Exposure to airborne particles and fumes

• Ability to bend, twist, stoop to inspect equipment
• Ability to talk, hear, and use hands and dexterity to manipulate objects or controls
