About the role

The 2nd Shift Safety Coordinator will support the implementation, administration, interpretation, and enforcement of safety requirements including plant, Corporate, local, state, and federal regulations. This role helps evaluate and determine safety standards based on risk/hazard analysis to meet regulatory requirements and the HSE management system (ISO 45001). Responsibilities include reviewing HSE incidents for root cause and establishing corrective and preventative actions, as well as providing technical assistance with various plant staff functions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance routes are completed and updated as needed
• Serve as a shop floor mentor and interface for HSE topics
• Handle HSE-related communication, including training, safety alerts, and production review meetings
• Prepare and coordinate HSE-related training material and lead training classes
• Lead or participate in incident investigations, facilitating root cause analysis and proper corrective and preventative actions
• Participate in or lead plant emergency response teams and drills
• Conduct hazard assessments of equipment/jobs to ensure they meet all applicable requirements
• Develop and revise HSE-related policies/procedures for the plant and drive implementation
• Lead safety audits of key program areas to ensure compliance with regulatory and Bosch directives
• Conduct formal reviews of new equipment, equipment modifications, or process changes
• Maintain documentation to meet Bosch directives and regulatory requirements
• Provide leadership and guidance to the plant safety teams
• Interact with state and federal agencies and consultants to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies' requirements
• Work independently and/or with a team

Qualifications

• College degree relating to HSE (preferred)
• Knowledge of Safety and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
• Leadership skills
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing/warehousing or industrial environment
• Valid Driver’s License
• Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office
