Safety Consultant - Part-Time

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Aid employers in developing and implementing workplace safety and health programs.
  • Train employers and/or employees on loss control and OSHA standards compliance.
  • Conduct and participate in meetings and seminars to disseminate safety information.
  • Inspect worksites and assesses for potential hazards; prepare reports and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain certifications such as DDC, FA/CPR, OSHA, or other relevant safety instructor authorizations.
  • Attend regularly and predictably.
  • Comply with National Safety Council, Nebraska policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience: Bachelors Degree within Business/Industrial/Occupational Safety and Health or two years closely related experience; working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Communication: Articulate, excellent oral and written skills; effective in English; ability to communicate effectively.
  • Organization: Well-organized, prioritizes and completes tasks efficiently.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 40lbs., sit or stand for long periods, and demonstrate physical aspects of training.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift and carry class demonstration and presentation materials up to 40lbs.
  • Able to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Able to physically demonstrate all aspects of training in First Aid, CPR, and AED classes.

Equipment Utilization

  • Telephone, computer, fax machine.

Description of Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced office environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Off-site training locations will vary.
