Safety Attendant

What We Offer

Schedule: FULL TIME (36 hours per week) 7pm-7am with rotating weekends

Location: Forsyth Medical Center Emergency Department

About the Role

The Safety Attendant provides one-on-one observation of Behavioral Health Emergency patients for the purpose of identifying behaviors which are potentially hazardous to self or others in accordance with facility policies and procedures; reports needs and concerns to licensed nurse.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required
• Experience: Previous hospital experience, preferred
• Licensure/Certification:
  • De-Escalation Techniques (within 90 days of employment), required
  • Life Support Responder (within 90 days of employment), required
  • Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training (within 90 days after completion of De-Escalation Training), required

Skills

• Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing as applicable
• Knowledgeable regarding guidelines for infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics
• Maintains acceptable standards set by those guidelines
• Ability to work with all age group patients or act as a companion
• Basic computer skills for documentation
