Safety Attendant
Department: Safety Attendants • Location: Kernersville Medical Center – Kernersville, NC
About the role
The Patient Safety Attendant provides continuous, direct observation to ensure the safety and well-being of patients at risk of harm to themselves or others. Working under the direction of nursing staff, this role supports a safe care environment by monitoring behavior, assisting with basic needs, and promptly reporting any changes in patient condition or safety concerns.
Schedule
7 pm–7 am, full-time, night shift
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Previous hospital experience (preferred)
- De-Escalation Techniques certification (within 90 days of employment, required)
- Life Support Responder certification (within 90 days of employment, required)
- Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training (within 90 days after completion of De-Escalation Training, required)
Skills
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing
- Knowledgeable regarding guidelines for infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics
- Ability to work with patients of all age groups or act as a companion
- Basic computer skills for documentation
