Safety Coordinator / Field Safety Representative
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct daily field safety inspections and audits.
- Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site orientations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, client, and company safety requirements.
- Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and Safe Work Permits.
- Maintain site safety documentation, training records, and inspection logs.
- Support emergency response planning and drills.
- Assist project leadership in developing site-specific safety plans.
- Participate in client safety meetings and audits.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of construction, industrial, refinery, petrochemical, power, or oil & gas safety experience.
- Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence safe behaviors at all organizational levels.
- Experience conducting field audits and incident investigations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field.
- OSHA 30 Construction Certification.
- CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician).
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional).
- STSC or OHST certifications.
- First Aid / CPR / AED Certification.
- Experience with ISNetworld, Veriforce, Avetta, or client contractor-management systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and elevated work platforms.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, FR clothing, gloves, and fall protection equipment.
