About the role

The Assistant Manager, Safety leads a team of safety professionals to innovate, design, and enhance safety systems, processes, and equipment, aligning with operational goals and promoting safety excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety themes and complex improvement projects
• Manage daily team operations
• Mentor staff
• Utilize safety expertise to proactively reduce hazards through PDCA cycles
• Interpret safety policies
• Conduct risk assessments, ergonomic studies, and document safety activities
• Develop reports with complex data analysis and trending
• Continually enhance technical skills

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's in Engineering or Safety-related field
• 8+ years of safety or manufacturing experience
• Professional safety certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional)
• Strong interpersonal, communication, planning, data analysis, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of safety regulations and injury prevention strategies is essential
