About the role
Transdev in San Rafael, CA is hiring a Safety and Training Manager.
Responsibilities
- Screen job applicants in accordance with company policy and client contract.
- Oversee and conduct safety education/training for all employees.
- Manage accident prevention, loss control and related regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Compliance with DOT regulations (49 CFR Parts 40 and 655)
- A high school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.
- Minimum of three years’ progressive experience in training or safety, 2 of which were in a supervisory position.
- Possess, or within 120 days obtain and maintain, a California class C commercial driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain certification in accordance with California Verification of Transit Training (VTT) and General Public Paratransit Vehicle (GPPV) driver programs and rules.
- Understand the full suite of Marin Access programs.
- Understand requirements of the ADA related to public transit.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; communicate effectively and clearly over the telephone in a professional and pleasant tone.
- Utilize computer software, including Microsoft Office, and possess proficient computer skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work shifts or flexible work schedules indoors and outdoors.
- Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Subject to long periods of sitting, standing, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
- Maintain medical certificate required to maintain commercial driver’s license.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation package of minimum $70,000 – maximum $88,600 / Exempt
- Benefits Include:
- Vacation: One (1) week during first year of employment up to four (4) weeks per year after ten (10) years.
