About the role
Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) is seeking a dedicated Safety and Security Monitor to coordinate and oversee patient monitoring activities while helping to maintain a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment within The Greenbriar Center, our inpatient treatment program in Washington, PA. This position plays a key role in supporting overall building safety and ensuring the well-being of patients, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Monitors patient movement into and out of the facility.
- Maintains daily logs.
- Maintains knowledge of all facility rules, regulations, and policies.
- Conducts safety and security rounds throughout the building.
- Conducts room inspections and completes report of findings daily.
- Conducts property and personal items searches and chain of custody.
- Supports Nursing with visual searches upon admission.
- Conducts patient room searches on a rotating schedule and as needed.
- Provides crisis management and patient de-escalation to support clinical staff.
- Supports Counselor Techs with transfers as needed.
- Monitors medication and MAT line to prevent medication diversion.
- K-9 walk-throughs on a rotating schedule in coordination with Regional Director of Security.
- Provides support in the program as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Attends mandatory GRC trainings and in-services.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Chemical dependency treatment experience preferred.
- Pass PA Criminal Background Check.
- Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances.
- Pass Drug Screen.
- 2-Step TB Test.
- Required to remain awake and alert to patient activities while on duty.
Skills
- Good communication skills.
