SAFETY AND RISK MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR
About the role
The Safety and Risk Management Director is the designated safety representative for the agency and is responsible for developing/implementing the agency’s comprehensive safety, risk management and emergency preparedness programs.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and accreditation standards
- Conduct routine risk assessments and lead safety improvement projects
- Collaborate with the Property Manager to identify and correct hazards at all agency facilities, including the senior community
- Oversee agency and department emergency preparedness and continuity plans
- Maintain relationships with local emergency management agencies and coordinate the annual review of emergency preparedness plans
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration or equivalent experience in a related field
- 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience
- Maintain a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification
Qualifications
- Preferred but not required: Master’s degree in a related field

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with occasional travel across the service area, including the city of Bristol and the counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell, Tazewell, Bland, Wythe, Smyth and Washington.

Travel
Occasional travel across the service area, including the city of Bristol and the counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell, Tazewell, Bland, Wythe, Smyth and Washington, will be required.
