SafeCare Home Visitor
About the role
Cayuga Centers is hiring a SafeCare Home Visitor. This is a temporary to potentially permanent position. The role involves serving families with children aged 0-8 through an evidence-based, structured approach to skill building.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate as part of a team of service providers with the goal of keeping families together
- Teach, model, and support families in making real time changes using the SafeCare Program curriculum
- Assess parents or caregivers utilizing SafeCare skills, and provide specific positive and corrective feedback
- Model skills surrounding parent-infant/child interaction, how to address a variety of health concerns, maintaining appropriate supervision and childproofing the home
- Provide education to parents or caregivers following the SafeCare Program curriculum
- Demonstrate an inclusive and accepting practice both in the office and in the field to support a diverse and accepting culture
Requirements
- A minimum of an associate’s degree in a related field with experience working from a strengths-based perspective with families
- Ability and willingness to work with families in an “in-home” context
- Willingness to run parenting groups
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of the child welfare system
- Knowledge of the knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to appreciate and encourage diversity and understand the concept of cultural trauma as it applies to individual and family functioning
Qualifications
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Walking up and down stairs inside and outside
- Must have the ability to type documentation and maintain proper files
- Lift up to 50 pounds

Pay
$25.00/hour
Schedule
This is a full-time, 40-hour-a-week position with a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the families served.
