Job Summary

Roosevelt Continuation School is seeking an experienced and dedicated teacher for a one-year-only position in the Safe School Classroom. Preference will be given to teachers with endorsements in Math level 3/4 or Special Education.

About the Role

The classroom teacher will create a positive learning environment where students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and lifelong learning skills. Responsibilities include establishing rapport with students, parents, and colleagues, motivating students, and implementing Proficiency-Based Learning.

Responsibilities

• Create lesson plans and instructional materials
• Adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs
• Use effective teaching techniques to engage students
• Supervise students in various settings (indoors and outdoors)
• Evaluate students' academic and social growth
• Communicate with parents and other professionals
• Implement appropriate student attendance policies
• Participate in faculty meetings and committees
• Administer standardized tests
• Model professional and ethical standards

Requirements

• Valid Utah Professional Educator License
• Special Education endorsement preferred
• Experience working with at-risk students
• Good communication and public relations skills
• Ability to work independently and manage classroom behavior

Qualifications
