Safe Office On-Call Responder
Essential Functions
Remain accessible by cell phone at all times during scheduled on-call shifts to respond to incidents of sexual assault, domestic/relationship violence or stalking.
Respond promptly to all calls for assistance or questions about resources regarding sexual and domestic/relationship violence and stalking.
Provide immediate response to survivors in the event of a reported incident, following applicable University policies, guidelines, and protocols established by the Associate Director of the Safe Office.
- Response may include, but is not limited to, providing confidential consultation to the individual, accompanying the individual to the hospital or to meet with legal/police authorities and connecting the individual to appropriate campus and community resources.
- Provide follow-up assistance and response as directed by the Associate Director of the Safe Office.
- Consult with the Associate Director of the Safe Office as appropriate during and after responses.
- Keeps timely, accurate, and ethical records consistent with UCC/Safe Office policy and relevant professional code(s) of ethics immediately after a response.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 20 hours of documented training in sexual assault and domestic/relationship violence response.
- One to two years of experience responding to incidents of sexual and domestic/relationship violence.
- Understanding of applicable privilege communication laws and the ability to manage confidential information and use sound judgment in responding to crises.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population, faculty, staff, administrators, parents and external agencies.
- Ability to meet requirements of the University's automobile insurance.
Physical Requirements
No adverse environmental conditions expected.
