Safety Engineer Responsibilities
- Serve as a customer technical contact.
- Interpret standards and apply the requirements to products under investigation.
- Create and implement test procedures.
- Conduct tests in accordance with standards and procedures, record results.
- Ensure that test equipment is calibrated or tested and operates properly.
- Interface with and update the Lab Manager(s), Team Leader(s) and Project Coordinator(s).
- Assist as necessary with training of junior technicians and engineers.
- Review files and reports prepared by project engineers.
- Maintains monitors multiple projects underway.
- Prepare certification reports and related documents.
- Aids department management with quoting.
- Keeps current with industry technical developments and disseminates to the team, as necessary.
- Assists with conducting and monitoring training of testing personnel as necessary particularly in relevant field of expertise.
- Supports management with Sales and Marketing activities.
Qualifications
- Basic Minimum Educational Requirements: Four-year college Engineering degree, or other technical degree with relevant work experience.
- Basic Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of direct work experience in product safety engineering and hazardous location equipment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Receptive to and accepting guidance from others.
