SACC Site Supervisor (Albany)

About the role
The SACC Site Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising a team of SACC Youth Development Professionals in serving students at an assigned Albany or Troy Elementary School site or BGCCA Clubhouse. The primary purpose is to plan, coordinate, and deliver a comprehensive after-school program for students that complies with the provisions of the Office of Children and Family Services. This position prepares youth for success by developing and implementing enrichment activities focused on academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Supervision
- Oversee, support, and manage all staff; host weekly meetings, administer training, and maintain records.
- Communicate with school host sites, Boys & Girls Club Management, and member-related parties to ensure smooth operation.
- Coach and train SACC Youth Development Professionals (YDPs) to ensure their success.
- Conduct orientation and training for newly employed SACC YDPs.
- Participate in the selection, hiring, and supervision of SACC YDPs.
- Conduct quarterly and annual SACC YDP performance evaluations.
- Program & Service Management
- Contribute to developing new programs and curriculum to expand existing programs within BGCCA.
- Adhere to BGCCA SACC curriculum to promote consistency across all sites.
- Manage accurate records of participant registration, attendance, and DSS submissions.
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents of students.
- Register students and market after-school programs to students and families.
- Collect and report daily attendance and submit daily meal counts.
- Create parent newsletters and plan and facilitate monthly family engagement events.
- Communicate with parents and families about the program.
- Assist in marketing the program to school-based participants.
- Collect registration forms and enroll participants.
- Complete and ensure accurate payroll records daily; adhere to payroll procedures and deadlines.
- Communicate with the development team about specific grant requirements bi-weekly.
- Submit all required grant reports on time.
- Resource Management & Planning
- Participate in weekly or as-needed site meetings with a SACC Program Manager to ensure OCFS compliance and curriculum success.
- Submit programming schedules to the Program Manager for approval.
- Develop and utilize daily lesson plans.
- Ensure all program rooms are cleaned and a checklist is signed at the end of each program day.
- Health & Safety
- Ensure program compliance with grant requirements.
- Ensure the health and safety of all students and staff, including creating health plans for children needing them and competency in first aid administration.
- Complete all required training.
- Relationships
- Internal: Maintain close contact with SACC Youth Development Professionals, SACC Program Manager, and other SACC Site Supervisors.
- External: Maintain open lines of communication with parents, Food Services, development, Community Partners, and transportation services.
Requirements
- Education and Experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's or associate's degree in education, youth development, or a related field.
- Minimum: Two (2) years of direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years.
- Required: 1-2 years of experience in a Supervisor capacity in a child care program or related field.
- Required Certifications
- NYS Children's Program Administrator credentials and/or School Age Child Care Credential (or other office-recognized credentials specific to the school-age developmental period).
- Background check clearance.
- CPR and First Aid Training (ability to obtain).
- Essential Skills/Abilities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
- Knowledge of program regulations and standards.
- Experience with budget management and record-keeping.
- Understanding of principles related to the development of youth between 4 and 13 years of age.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting, child abuse clearance, and sex offender registry check.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced school or clubhouse environment working directly with children ages 4-13.
- Indoor setting with varying noise levels typical of after-school programming activities.
- Local travel between assigned sites as needed for meetings and training.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, and move around for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
- Fine motor coordination for computer work and administrative tasks.
- Regular verbal communication with children, staff, and parents.
- Visual acuity to monitor children's activities and safety.

Starting from $18/hour.
Schedule
11 AM - 7 PM, Monday - Friday.
