SabreKids Tim Afternoon Assistant (Pre-K 2 - Grade 5, Flexible Grade Roation)

About the role

The SabreKids Time Afternoon School Assistant supports the Beyond the Classroom Coordinator in planning, coordination, and implementation of a high-quality after-school program for early childhood and elementary students.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the established daily schedule
• Provide continuous supervision of students to ensure a safe, secure, and nurturing environment
• Foster positive relationships by treating everyone with kindness, dignity, patience, and respect
• Demonstrate flexibility by rotating between classrooms to serve students in Pre-K 2 through 5th grade
• Assist in maintaining a positive, engaging, and organized after-school environment that promotes students' growth and development
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Beyond the Classroom Coordinator

Requirements

• Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, be involved with an evangelical, Protestant church of like faith and practice; and agree with the philosophies, statement of faith, and statement of Christian Life Commitment of Southside Christian School
• Must be able to articulate a deep understanding of a biblically informed philosophy of Christian education
• Previous experience working with early childhood and/or elementary age students is preferred
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and requiring minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
• Ability to adapt to changing program needs and work collaboratively as part of a team

Qualifications

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit on the floor or in child-sized furniture as needed to effectively supervise and interact with students
• Ability to safely assist with the evacuation of students during emergencies
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 15 pounds as required in the performance of assigned duties

Pay

The salary range for this position is $12.00 - $14.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
