RWJBarnabas Health is Seeking to Employ a Per Diem Psychiatrist at the Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist to provide per diem coverage within our Behavioral Health and Addiction service lines at the Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, New Jersey. As part of the largest integrated health care system in NJ, we are looking for adaptable physicians to provide high-quality inpatient and on-call psychiatric care in acute care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for inpatient child, adolescent, and adult units (both voluntary and involuntary).
• Perform psychiatric evaluations and consultations in the Emergency Department and acute care hospital settings.
• Conduct weekend rounding and facilitate patient discharges.
• Ensure timely documentation and compliance with hospital bylaws.
• Provide in-person weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) for the Short-Term Care Facility (STCF/STC) unit and Psychiatric Emergency Screening Services (PESS).

Requirements

• ABPN board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
• NJ licensed or eligible for NJ licensure.
• Comfortable with psychiatric inpatient rounding, emergency consults (PESS), inpatient consults, and on-call shifts.
• Effective communicator who thrives in multidisciplinary team settings.

Pay

The anticipated pay range for this position is $500 – $1,500 per shift. The actual compensation offered will depend on the specific facility, shift type (weekday, weekend, or holiday), and the candidate’s professional experience.
