About the role

The Regional Vice President, Business Development is instrumental in driving revenue growth and admissions while expanding Aveanna's presence across multiple locations within their respective region. This role is responsible for overseeing and supervising regional and area business development leaders. The Regional Vice President of Business Development will work closely with operational partners to drive strategic plans with external referral sources and payors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, nurturing, and maintenance of relationships with physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals to generate referrals.
  • Collaborate to develop and implement segment strategies and plans aligned with regional and company goals.
  • Participate in leadership meetings, delivering strategic, growth-oriented regional plans.
  • Collaborate with operations and regional leadership ensuring growth strategies, contribution, and business commitments are achieved.
  • Support and guide area leadership ensuring effective engagement with hospital C-Suite, case managers, and discharge planners.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives aimed at securing preferred payor contracts.
  • Analyze market trends and payor landscapes to identify opportunities for negotiating mutually beneficial terms and outcomes.
  • Develop strategy to increase referral pipeline of preferred payors.
  • Identify community events, health fairs, and conferences to promote Aveanna's services and establish a strong presence in the community.
  • Establish partnerships with local organizations and community leaders to enhance and diversify referral networks.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to the business development team in conducting informative presentations to healthcare providers, community groups, and potential patients/families.
  • Ensure consistency and effectiveness in conveying Aveanna’s scope of services.
  • Monitor and share industry trends, competitor activities, and changes in healthcare regulations affecting private duty nursing.
  • Conduct market research identifying opportunities for service expansion and differentiation, guiding strategic decision-making processes.
  • Ensure appropriate allocation of resources to drive volume growth.
  • Oversee tracking and analysis of referral sources, ensuring comprehensive reporting of marketing efforts and results.
  • Provide reports to executive management on referral growth, marketing activities, and achievement of referral, admission, and volume targets.
  • Develop and mentor the regional business development team.
  • Monitor employee selection, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Analyze and manage business development team expenses ensuring alignment with budget requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Proven track record of success in healthcare marketing, with a focus on generating referrals for private duty nursing or home healthcare services.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of 25 pounds.

  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity.

Environment

Performs duties in a mobile, field-based environment with frequent location and facility visits. Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions.
