Rutgers University–Newark is seeking Part-Time Lecturer faculty for the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in public and nonprofit management during the Fall 2026 semester.
About the role
This part-time position involves teaching courses in public and nonprofit management. Responsibilities include preparing course materials, delivering lectures, mentoring students, and assessing student work.
Responsibilities
- Prepare course syllabi and instructional materials.
- Present lectures during scheduled class times across daytime, evening, weekend, or online formats.
- Hold regular office hours, provide out-of-class guidance, and respond promptly to student communications.
- Conduct fair and timely grading of course assignments, examinations, and projects; submit final semester grades within university deadlines.
Requirements
- Earned Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Public Administration or an affiliated academic discipline.
- Significant professional/practitioner experience in the public or nonprofit sectors (required for Master's degree holders).
- Considerable administrative or executive leadership experience in public or nonprofit organizations (preferred).
- University-level teaching experience (preferred).

Pay
$2,777 per credit.
