The Division of General Internal Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is seeking a dedicated Inpatient Hospitalist to join our team.
About the role
This position is ideal for candidates passionate about academic medicine, clinical excellence, and mentoring the next generation of physicians. It offers a mix of clinical responsibilities with opportunities for research, quality improvement, and faculty development.
Responsibilities
- Primary service on the Medical Teaching Service (MTS) and GIM Medicine Consult Service
- Opportunities to participate in the perioperative program, anemia clinic, or Attending Directed Hospital Services (ADS)
- Engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows within a leading academic institution
- Collaborate with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, a premier academic medical center
Requirements
This open-rank faculty appointment requires a strong commitment to academic medicine, clinical excellence, and mentorship. Candidates should have:
- A current medical license in good standing
- Experience in inpatient hospitalist care
- Strong teaching and mentoring skills
- Interest in research and quality improvement
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of a MD, DO, or equivalent degree
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Internal Medicine
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Hospital Medicine (preferred but not required)

- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
Benefits & Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $225,000 to $325,000 per year. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
