Rural Carrier Associate (RCA)

• Deliver, and collect mail along a prescribed rural route using a vehicle.
• Provide customers on the route with a variety of services.

Requirements

• Valid state drivers license.
• Safe driving record.
• At least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger.
• Driving must have taken place in the U.S. or its possessions or territories or in U.S. military installations worldwide.

Qualifications

• Flexible with little to no lead time or advance notice of a schedule change.
• May be required to provide a vehicle sufficient in size for delivery of mail if an employer-provided vehicle is not assigned.
• If required to provide your own vehicle, RCAs will receive an Equipment Maintenance Allowance.
• Required to have the ability to deliver from the right hand side of the vehicle, even if you must provide one.
• Perform work indoors and outdoors in all elements of weather: rain, sleet, ice, snow, cold, and heat.
• Encounter animals and insects.
• Physically demanding requiring moderate to heavy lifting, carrying, prolonged standing, reaching, and walking.
• Provide mail security at all times.
• Follow established safe work methods and procedures.
