About the Role
Mold Technology Center builds, samples, and maintains rubber molds for all Victaulic facilities worldwide. In this role, you will design, test, and inspect rubber molds and press equipment to verify critical product characteristics. You will focus on process optimization in rubber processing operations, investigate and implement new rubber molding processes and technology, and prepare specifications for process and manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Write and update routing and processing procedures.
- Work with product development engineers to improve product design and processes.
- Troubleshoot rubber processes to increase productivity and decrease scrap problems.
- Maintain mold specifications by taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming, replacing worn tools, and adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Conduct safety training for Mold Tech personnel, including weekly safety toolbox talks.
- Operate an overhead crane and drive a forklift.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain equipment using preventative maintenance.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in rubber molding processes.
- Good project management skills.
- Experience in optimizing rubber manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
- Some travel required (approximately 3–4 times a year for training and visiting Victaulic molding facilities).
Physical Demands
- Required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Moderate walking, standing, lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Work around moving objects and machinery with moving parts.
Schedule
- Day shift, 40 hours per week.
- Overtime as required.
- 8- and 10-hour shifts available.
