GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Rubber Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring production press equipment to manufacture quality components that meet company specifications. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety.

SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES

  • Set up and operate press equipment according to production schedules and work instructions.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Inspect parts and finished products to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning activities.
  • Identify equipment malfunctions and notify supervisors or maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Read and interpret production orders, work instructions, blueprints, and measurement tools.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Ensure materials are properly loaded, positioned, and handled throughout the production process.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with housekeeping standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, and gauges.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous manufacturing, production, machine operation, or press operation experience preferred.
  • Experience operating hydraulic, mechanical, or punch press equipment.
  • Experience in a metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Operating hydraulic presses which includes setup, running and monitoring parts.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Troubleshooting problem parts and using critical thinking to fix issues.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols.
  • Strong attention to details when it comes to monitoring quality of parts.
  • Ability to work and communicate with others in a production setting.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and quality workmanship.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to operate equipment and handle materials.
  • Able to lift heavy molds 50 lbs.
  • Able to work in the heat.
  • Able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is performed in a manufacturing facility. Employees are required to comply with all safety requirements and wear appropriate personal protective equipment while performing job duties.
