RTV Clerk

About the Role

This position involves managing Return-to-Vendor (RTV) inventory by checking damaged, deleted, and defective goods, obtaining vendor return authorizations, and ensuring proper shipping or disposal. The role also includes providing high-level member service and assisting with various department duties.

Responsibilities

• Check in damaged and defective merchandise by keying to Non-Saleable Inventory.
• Stock RTV area shelves and handle items with care, following safety procedures.
• Research item return disposition and contact buyers for vendor return negotiations.
• Notify management regarding vendor damage, destroy, or shrink issues.
• Obtain return authorization from vendors and create shipping documents.
• Package, weigh, and ship items back to vendors for credit or destroy for credit as required.
• Key salvage and salvage-for-credit merchandise with Inventory Auditor and staff-level Manager.
• Wrap pallets of keyed merchandise with plastic film for safe handling.
• Distribute, log, collect, and key destroyed merchandise sheets from various departments.
• Dispose of trash merchandise under manager supervision.
• Document and track out-for-repair items.
• Clean and organize the RTV area consistently, securing lock-up items and following security procedures.
• Learn other positions within the department and assist with receiving and other areas as needed.
• Help members load large items, direct them to products, and provide product status information.
• Ensure proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery as required.
• Assist with department duties and in other warehouse departments as necessary.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
• Open availability to meet business needs, apart from religious or disability considerations.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
