RTO Service Delivery Hearing Officer (TSS/ATD/TD)

About the role

This is a confidential position within the Labor Relations Division, reporting to the Senior Director of Labor Relations. The role is open to all NYCT Train Transit Service Supervisors, Assistant Train Dispatchers, and Train Dispatchers. You will maintain your current rate of pay.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Step I Hearing Officer and Step II Management Representative in disciplinary cases
• Serve as Step I Contract Grievance Hearing Officer and Step II Management Representative
• Advise Service Delivery supervision and management on disciplinary matters
• Review field Disciplinary Packages and advise management on necessary documentation
• Update electronic databases
• Perform other related functions as required

Requirements

• Five (5) years of Service Delivery experience, with at least two years as a permanent Transit Service Supervisor, Assistant Train Dispatcher, or Train Dispatcher; or
• An associate degree or higher in Labor Relations, Public Administration, Transportation, or a related field, plus five (5) years of Service Delivery experience, including at least one year as a permanent Transit Service Supervisor, Assistant Train Dispatcher, or Train Dispatcher; or
• A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of NYCT Rules, Regulations, Labor Agreements, Policies, and Procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suites (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel), PeopleSoft, and related applications

Schedule

Days (Monday–Friday), with rotating Thursdays until 7 PM.

Location

2 Broadway, Manhattan.

Other Information

All appointments, except for Department of Subways employees on MaBSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll. Pursuant to New York State Public Officers Law and the MTA Code of Ethics, employees in policymaking positions must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government.
