RT/MA PRN - Houma Urgent Care - PRN

About the role

We're looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team at Ochsner Health. Our mission is to provide personalized healthcare services, support providers, and help patients. This role involves delivering individualized healthcare services, performing routine radiographic procedures, and supporting the clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for their visit by completing necessary documentation and explaining procedures.
• Cleans and prepares the examination room for the next appointment.
• Verifies physician orders and procedures to ensure provider is prepared for the visit.
• Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocols.
• Performs radiology imaging according to LSBME standards and guidelines.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Assists with departmental operations including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, ensuring privacy and clear communication.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal medical assistant training program preferred.
• 2 years of experience as a medical assistant.
• Licensed by the Board of Examiners as a Private Radiologic Technologist in state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This role is available on a PRN (per request, not scheduled) basis in Houma, Louisiana.
