RS Avionics Installer I
About the role
The RS Avionics Installer I position at GAC St. Louis requires unique skills including the ability to read and understand basic aircraft wiring diagrams, familiarity with hand tools, 3D modeling programs, wire tie-up techniques, and wire termination methods. The role involves assisting in the removal/installation of avionics electrical components, fabricating wire harnesses, installations, terminations, ring-outs, and functional tests of avionics/electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Assists in installations, modifications and the fabrication of wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings.
- Assists with the completion of tasks within allotted time frame.
- Maintains required logs and records.
- Complies with the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program and all safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six (6) months accredited schooling in aviation electronics or general electrical experience preferred.
- General knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
- Must know how to use a multimeter.
Qualifications
- Technical Certificate in aircraft electrical assembly preferred.
- Successful completion in current year youth apprenticeship program sponsored by Gulfstream, in area of expertise.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Strong written and verbal skills required.
- Computer skills and general software knowledge necessary.
Skills
- Familiarity with hand tools used in avionics installation.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling programs such as CATIA.
- Familiarity with wire tie-up using string in an aviation or aerospace environment.
- Familiarity using Daniels crimpers for wire termination.
- Basic understanding of aircraft electrical and avionic installation standards.

Pay
The compensation range for this role is $22.49 - $27.88 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.
