RRT NICU Transport PRN
Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.
What you will do in this role:
- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways.
- Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Maintain airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
- Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
- Respond to emergent patient situations.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist Level 3 NICU experience
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- Survival Teaching Assessment and Training (STABLE) must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
