Routesetter

Responsibilities

• Set and forerun routes
• Ensure quality, consistency, and grading accuracy across all climbs
• Provide mentorship and feedback to other routesetters
• Maintain a safe, tidy, and efficient work zone
• Communicate effectively with the head routesetter and management on daily priorities
• Auxiliary with competitions and special events
• Follow all safety protocols and model professional conduct

Requirements

• Be at 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to lead belay, lead climb, and boulder
• Must be available to routeset rope routes on Mondays and boulders on Thursdays from 8:00am – 4:30pm
• 1 or more years of professional route setting experience
• Ability to set and forerun routes up to 5.12 and boulders up to V7
• Ideal candidate would have the ability to climb 5.13 and V9
• Strong understanding of movement, risk management, and member experience
• Proficiency in routesetting on rope systems with a haul line
• Skilled with all tools involved in routesetting (impact drivers, angle grinders, etc.)
• Able to meet the physical demands of routesetting
• Strong leadership, communication, and attention to detail
• Friendly, approachable, and team-focused personality

Pay

$16 to $22 per hour

Part-Time hourly. Potential for full-time hourly employment, with additional roles
