Roadmap
The Route Sales Specialist II (RSS II) is a certified trainer responsible for training new Route Sales Representatives (RSRs) and Route Sales Trainees (RSTs), as well as managing sales, delivery, and merchandising of fresh baked products.
Responsibilities
- Leverage internal sales data and company marketing plans to drive growth with customers through proper planning, ordering, and execution
- Operate company routes and provide coverages for RSRs during time-off
- Provide in-field training to new RSRs and RSTs, covering all tasks and objectives outlined in the Route Sales Operations Manual
- Establish and maintain strong customer relations to improve customer satisfaction
- Order product using an online state-of-the-art order planner to ensure freshness and customer satisfaction
- Increase sales through shelf space expansion and in-store promotions
- Adhere to the company's route structure, service times, and customer standards
- Follow the fresh market policy, rotate product, and remove damaged or out-of-code items
- Perform daily route settlements, verify product quantities, and adhere to cash collection policies
- Support the introduction of new products and promotional displays
- Obtain authorization for promotional product displays and properly place and assemble them
- Review weekly route analysis and key performance indicators to reduce costs and drive sales
- Ensure compliance with customer shelf schematics and brand team objectives
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace and vehicle
- Secure and organize inventory to prevent product damage
- Perform other duties as directed by management
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year related experience in retail sales, DSD sales, or business-to-business sales
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain DOT medical certification and meet Fleet insurance guidelines
- Must be able to safely and efficiently operate a vehicle with a GVWR greater than 10,000 pounds
- Must adhere to all regulatory policies and company policies and procedures
