Route Sales Representative
Position Responsibilities
A Route Sales Representative (RSR) is responsible for ordering, sales, and delivery of fresh baked products. The successful candidate must come to work with a neat, professional appearance (sometimes in a uniform) and be able to build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Drivers will check their delivery vehicle daily, keeping accurate records, quickly reporting maintenance issues, and filling out daily driver’s logs, time logs, and hours of service.
This position will require flexibility to work varying workdays and early morning start times. Generally, start times are around 3:00am and days off are on Wednesday and Sunday.
- Expand shelf space
- Creatively display in-store promotions and displays
- Ensure product shelf life is maximized by properly rotating the products
- Use data and marketing plans to build relationships and drive customer growth through effective communication, planning, ordering, and execution
- Work together with customers to increase sales and drive customer satisfaction
- Adaptability and flexibility to work during the customer’s designated service windows and non-traditional business hours to complete deliveries
Preferred Qualifications
- Sales experience
- Delivery driver experience
- High school diploma or GED
Essential Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Have had a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card
- Must have a valid state driver’s license and documented safe driving record
- Must meet Fleet Insurance Guidelines
- Must adhere to federal, state, and local rules regarding the operation of a CMV
- Must execute the best practices of RSR training (after 4-week company paid training)
- Must be able to push or pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required
Salary Range
$75,000 - $92,000
