Route Relief Driver - Linen
About the Role
Mission Linen Supply is seeking a Route Relief Driver to drive and provide services to customers on designated routes. This position revolves around sales and is paid commission on what you develop.
The starting pay is $21.97 an hour, based on education, experience, other qualifications, and location of assignment. Once a route is assigned, the average total annual compensation for the Route Sales and Service Representative position is over $80K with potential for much more.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a professional appearance in compliance with the company’s standards.
- Calls on prospective customers to solicit new business.
- Informs regular customers of new products or services.
- Drives truck to deliver laundry and/or uniforms to customer’s place of business.
- Collects or picks up rejected or unsold laundry and/or uniforms.
- Loads/unloads truck, including up to 50 LBS bags of linen daily.
- Develops and maintains customer goodwill by providing assistance, demonstrating interest, and practicing courtesy.
- Conducts business professionally to minimize or eliminate customer complaints.
- Handles complaints and questions, keeping supervisors informed when necessary.
- Listens to and resolves service complaints.
- Maintains inventory and follows company policies on inventory control.
- Collects money from customers, makes change, and records transactions on customer invoices.
- Issues or obtains customer signatures on invoices for pickup or delivery.
- Records delivery and inventory information on daily invoices.
- Cleans inside of the truck and performs routine maintenance.
- Attends training and service department meetings.
Requirements
- Sales and customer service experience.
- Clean driver’s license.
- Ability to drive a 26’ bobtail truck.
- Comfortable loading/unloading up to 50 LBS bags of linen daily.
- Must pass drug tests and clinic physical.
