About the role
As an Air Ambulance Pilot, you are essential in providing rapid, life-saving transportation for patients, ensuring safety for the medical team and passengers during flights.
Responsibilities
- Operate aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations
- Plan and execute flights considering weather, weight, and fuel
- Collaborate with medical staff, ground crew, and dispatch for seamless missions
- Respond promptly to emergency calls
- Maintain accurate flight and maintenance logs
- Represent the organization professionally
Requirements
- FAA certifications: Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
- Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate
- Minimum flight experience: 2,500 helicopter hours, with cross-country, night, and instrument hours
- Strong skills in flight planning, communication, decision-making, team collaboration, situational awareness, and safety compliance
- Physical ability to sit, perform pre/post-flight inspections, lift up to 50 pounds, and meet FAA medical standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Air ambulance operations experience
- Night Vision Goggle experience
- Turbine-engine hours
- Proximity to the assigned base
Pay
Hourly rate: $46.24 - $72.80, based on experience
