Rotating Equipment Engineer - Midstream
Basic Function
Develop, maintain, and interpret pipeline hydraulics, system curves, and pump curves to optimally define the proper operating region. Define and manage key performance indicators (KPI) to measure the effectiveness of the Rotating Equipment Reliability Program. Uses common engineering concepts to perform engineering evaluations, FEED studies for new projects, and assignments for the technical services department. Estimate the cost and feasibility of reliability projects, supervise contractors and field activities as needed. Knowledgeable on industry specifications regarding design and construction of rotating equipment and associated infrastructure considering appropriate materials of construction and corrosion controls. Use common engineering process to evaluate, recommend, improve our mechanical systems into a reliability program development including performance measurements like efficiency, vibration, temperature and preventive maintenance intervals. Recommend and implement improvements in operations procedures and maintenance procedures as needed. Develop and/or review technical specifications, contract documents and cost estimates for rotating equipment and associated infrastructure (i.e. pumps, starters, transformers, VFDs, MCC). Upgrade, design, configure, maintain and monitor Pipeline/Terminal equipment according to applicable specs. Review proposals of vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernization of existing processing equipment. Develop small capital project scopes, budgets and AFE’s. Review temporary piping clamps to ensure adequate design to maintain mechanical integrity. Review large capital projects design and construction, ensuring specifications and API codes are adhered to. Perform risk evaluations of existing equipment, recommend upgrades or inspection plans as appropriate. Evaluate inspection findings and when needed facilitate and/or perform Fitness For Service evaluations for fixed equipment. Track and report key performance indicators for reliability department.
