Responsibilities
- Perform rotor dynamics and vibration analyses to optimize the performance and reliability of complex rotating systems supporting gas centrifuge operations.
- Develop composite structural systems and evaluate material performance for advanced engineering applications.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering teams to select materials, define composite layups, fiber architecture, and resin systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on materials, manufacturing processes, testing methodologies, and production efficiency.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural integrity, vibration characteristics, and system performance.
- Investigate material, component, and process failures while leading root-cause analyses and corrective action efforts.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues involving rotary equipment and rotating machinery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
- 5+ years of experience in rotor dynamics, vibration analysis, or rotating equipment engineering.
- Hands-on experience utilizing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software including ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, PATRAN, or similar engineering tools.
- Strong understanding of rotating machinery, structural dynamics, vibration analysis, and mechanical system design.
- Experience troubleshooting, analyzing, and diagnosing rotary equipment and complex mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of composite materials, structural applications, manufacturing processes, and failure analysis preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance required.
Pay
Salary Range: $100,000 - $135,000 annually depending on experience, plus relocation assistance.
