Rope Access Painter NCCER

About the Role

Acuren Inspection is hiring a Painter on a project basis with an immediate start date. The Technician will carry out duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner as assigned by the Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of painting and blasting
• Assist other technicians as required
• Perform specific job functions related to work orders
• Ensure operational safety of all equipment
• Other work duties as assigned

Requirements

• Knowledge of coating materials, application techniques, and curing processes
• Experience with paint and industrial equipment
• Experience using a wet paint gun, hand and power tools, and other painting equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings
• Ability to read and use coating thickness gages, surface profile gages, dew point meters, soluble salt testers, and hardness or ultrasonic thickness gages
• Previous pipeline experience preferred
• NCCER Painter certification a plus
• NACE certification a plus

Working Conditions

• Work in extreme cold and extreme heat environmental conditions
• Exposure to hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places in excess of 100 feet
• Exposure to high heat, extreme cold, chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation affecting the respiratory system or skin
• Adaptable to changing schedules with willingness to travel regularly, including last-minute and overnight travel
• Must be willing to work overtime

Physical Job Requirements & Demands

• Ability to withstand physically demanding tasks in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, heights, and limited visibility for extended periods
• Navigate industrial environments using rope systems and climbing equipment, requiring strong lower body mobility, balance, and mental strength for continuous concentration
• Meet occupational vision and hearing requirements to safely perform essential job functions
• Physical endurance for climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting regularly
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly, 60+ pounds on occasion
• Ability to maneuver frequently within confined spaces, crawl spaces, shafts, small enclosed rooms, pipelines, and other areas that may induce claustrophobia
• Withstand loud noise and work long workdays of up to 16 consecutive hours
• Physical stamina for extended periods of rope suspension
• Manual dexterity for technical rope work and tool handling, with regular stress to hands and fingers
