About the Role
The Rooms Inspector assists in monitoring the cleanliness of guest rooms and public areas as well as satisfying guests in terms of the friendliness and service of the Housekeeping staff. Ensures guest rooms and public areas of the hotel are clean and operating correctly while working within the labor and budgetary guidelines set forth by LBA.
Character traits of honesty and trustworthiness are essential to this position. Per company policy, potential associates must pass appropriate security clearances.
Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating the activities of the Housekeeping Team, including break-out boards, assigning times, checking rooms, and entering data into systems.
- Ensure associates take breaks and clock in/out on time.
- Maintain key control for guests and associates, securing keys at all times.
- Assist with monthly inventories, proper ordering, receiving, and maintenance of supplies.
- Clean vacant dirty rooms to guest-ready status and return occupied dirty rooms to clean status within specified time and accuracy constraints per brand standards.
- Follow all cleaning procedures outlined in housekeeping training.
- Report discrepancies to the Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness in other hotel areas (e.g., associate breakroom, restrooms, public areas, stairwells, and back of the house).
- Respond to guest requests and inquiries immediately.
- Understand emergency procedures and safety/security needs of guests and associates.
- Maintain a professional appearance daily, adhering to grooming and uniform standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned, based on capability.
Requirements
- Prior housekeeping experience in lodging, housing, hotels, hospitals, or care facilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift/carry 30 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, reach, crawl, and kneel.
- Strong communication skills with guests and co-workers.
- Proficiency in computer systems such as Quore and Hotel Effectiveness.
- Discretion to maintain guest privacy.
Skills
- Knowledge of proper procedures for handling linens, terry, and supplies.
- Understanding of sanitation for supplies, guestrooms, and public areas.
- Familiarity with guestroom cleaning procedures and safety/security measures.
- Ability to supervise and manage staff techniques.
- Organizational skills to maintain logs, checklists, and inventories.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
- Multi-tasking and service-centric attitude.
Working Conditions
- Physical presence at the hotel is required; remote work is not available.
- Standing and walking for long periods while maintaining a professional image.
- May be required to work any day/shift, including weekends.
Pay
$17.50 per hour.
