Rooms Controller

About the Role

The Rooms Controller is responsible for pre-registering all hotel guests to ensure a smooth arrival and maximizing potential revenue through proper room allocation.

Responsibilities

• Pre-register reservations in Opera and create welcome packets prior to guest arrival
• Monitor rooms’ inventory and ensure proper room allocation
• Answer incoming phone calls, handle guest requests, and manage room moves
• Assign rooms at least seven days in advance
• Work closely with Housekeeping and Guest Reception teams to ensure rooms are prepared adequately and on time
• Distribute all group welcome materials
• Perform additional supportive functions as needed, including:
  • Creating reservations for guests at the desk or after-hours calls
  • Assisting with guest check-ins at the reception desk
  • Processing third-party billing requests
  • Supporting the Concierge and Guest Services teams

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Previous customer service or luxury hotel experience required
• Strong English language communication skills (verbal and written)
• Intermediate computer skills
• Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions
• Knowledge of resort operations, services, and facilities

Physical Requirements

• Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, stooping, bending, and climbing
• Continuous communication abilities (talking and hearing) with guests, supervisors, and colleagues
• Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours at a time
• Finger dexterity to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and fax machines

Pay

The base pay scale for this position is $26.00 per hour, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions or gratuities.
