About the role
The Room Inspector examines hotel rooms after they have been cleaned to ensure they meet the level of cleanliness expected by the company. The Room Inspector may oversee housekeeping staff, make room assignments, direct housekeeping staff’s performance, and evaluate performance.
Responsibilities
- Open housekeeping office daily and create room assignments
- Train new hires to meet cleanliness expectations
- Handle lost and found inquiries
- Effectively communicate with Welcome Desk and Housekeeping staff members
- Oversee housekeeping staff, direct performance, and evaluate through inspection of cleaned rooms and public areas
- Recommend counseling and potential disciplinary action for housekeeping personnel
- Assist room attendants if short-handed
- Promote outstanding customer relations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Must be able to multi-task and take direction
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate applicable licensing
