Room Attendant Full-Time - The Langham,Chicago

Reports to: Director of Housekeeping and Housekeeping management team

About the role

Assure cleanliness of guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public areas and assists room attendants in order to maintain Langham and Forbes standards of quality. Assist colleagues whenever they are in need of help.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are kept free of soiled linen and trash.
• Stock closets with all supplies and linen as directed.
• Obtain amenities and supplies for room attendants as directed.
• Pick up and sanitize glasses according to hotel policy.
• Keep butler pantries and housekeeping storage areas clean and neat.
• Vacuum, sweep, and/or mop hallways, stairwells and foyers as needed.
• Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors.
• Polish and clean mirrors, room numbers on guestroom doors, and elevator rooms.
• Flip mattresses and move furniture as assigned by supervisor.
• Perform laundry, clean rooms, and public areas.
• Respond to guest questions and provide assistance, directions, or escort guests as requested.
• Provide service to hotel guests as specified in Langham and Forbes service standards.
• Assist with any other requests from supervisor.

Schedule

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In slow season, support in other areas such as laundry, public area, and room attendants may be necessary.

Requirements

• Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climb stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment.
• Must be able to walk 90–95% of the workday.
• Must be able to push up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of stain removal and chemical cleaning agents, and operation of different types of equipment.
• Ability to learn how to properly work with hazardous chemicals in accordance with company standards.
• Ability to read and write basic English in order to complete forms such as a room status report.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
• Previous janitorial experience preferred.

Pay

$22.16 – $27.70 per hour
