Cape Arundel Inn & Resort in Kennebunkport is seeking a part-time or full-time Room Attendant to join our team! Job Summary Housekeeping Duties: Reports to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, in accordance with KRC StandardsCleans and sanitizes all assigned rooms and bathroomsFollows the designated sequence of room assignmentsReplaces all amenities and linensKeeps cart and linen closets clean and orderlyCleans assigned rooms within shift time requirements, passing all inspectionsAssists in the preparation and deep cleaning of VIP roomsCleans spots on walls and carpetsRefills cleaning bottles with chemicals according to the department's chemical protocolReports/Replaces burned-out light bulbsReports irregularities such as smoking, pets, suspicious persons and behavior, unusual items, and activities to the ManagerReports items of value left unsecured in hallways and guestrooms immediately to the ManagerAdheres to OSHA regulations policies and procedures regarding emergencies, safe work practices, and wearing of protective gear as necessaryAdheres to OSHA regulations cleaning policies and procedures to ensure the professional appearance of all hotel areasThorough knowledge of proper cleaning methods for various surfacesAdheres to established cleaning schedules and methods to extend the life of the carpet and the professional appearance of the hotelPerforms all duties in a timely and professional mannerPerforms a visual inspection before leaving any areasFollows procedures for issuance and return of room keys, prioritizing of rooms, record-keeping, and status updatesDemonstrates working knowledge and team effort in accomplishing additional projects as assignedObserve guidelines for using and maintaining all pertinent equipmentFollows policies and procedures in preparing for and performing turndown serviceAttends all department meetings as scheduledMaintains assigned closets and employee areas in accordance with established policies and proceduresDemonstrates ability to provide coverage in related departments as directedSpecial projects and other duties, including laundry and turndown as assigned by the Manager Additional Guest Service Duties Applies excellent guest relations skills when interacting with guestsAnticipates guest needs, demonstrating sensitivity and responsiveness, ensuring complete guest satisfaction and repeat businessFamiliar/knowledgeable about the hotel and able to explain the locations and operating hours of hotel facilitiesSatisfies guest requests for information and servicesDemonstrates a friendly attitude to co-workers and all other hotel staffTreats guests and other employees with courtesy and respectConsistently maintains a positive attitude that ensures the best guest experienceGives recognition to repeat guestsFollows KRC procedures when entering guest rooms, always keeping the guest’s need for privacy in mindHandles all guest complaints according to KRC standards, notifies Supervisor/Manager immediatelyObserve hotel telephone etiquette, message, and call-handling procedures General Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all timesNotifies appropriate individuals promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significanceIs polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and fellow employeesExecutes emergency procedures in accordance with KRC standardsComplies with required safety regulations and proceduresMaintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work areaComplies with KRC hotel standards, policies and rulesComplies with KRC uniform and grooming standardsAttendance in conformance with KRC standardsAttend all training sessions and meetings Qualifications & Requirements This is a foundational, entry-level role where training will be provided. Previous cleaning/housekeeping experience preferred, but not required.We support work-life balance. This role requires availability to work days midweek and weekends regularly. We will do our best to accommodate schedule restrictions, please share your preferences upon interview. Positive attitude with exceptional customer service skills.Team-oriented with a passion for quality. Essential Functions Remain on feet for full shift.Lift up to 50 lbs.Walk the property and grounds regularly.Move up and down stairs repeatedly throughout entirety of shift.Bend frequently and repetitively during a shift.Ability to stretch arms widely and stretch legs over and around items such as beds, toilets, under desks, etc.Work on knees on occasion.Squat and kneel for extended periods.Push laundry carts frequently.Visually survey work areas.Use repetitive manual dexterity.Move quickly based on guest needs.Communicate and exchange information effectively with the ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.
