Roofer (Roof Repairer)

About the role

Tessera is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Roofer. The Roofer Performs the roofing duties necessary to maintain industrial building roofs and new installations of various types and systems.

Responsibilities

• Removes snow, water, or debris from roofs prior to applying roofing materials.
• Inspects problem roofs to determine the best repair procedures.
• Sets up scaffolding to provide safe access to roofs.
• Studies of blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber of fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.
• Ensures all roof repairs will meet manufacturer specifications to include approved material.
• Communicates and interacts directly with the customer and supervisors; informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs to include following up to ensure work has been completed and customer satisfaction.
• Ensures completed work meets quality control, Safety Procedures/Polies, and OSHA standards/regulations.
• All Other Duties as Assigned.

Requirements

• A highschool diploma/GED is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of roofing experience.
• Carlisle Applicator Certification preferred / must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Must be familiar with the products and applications associated with the different types of roofing materials.
• Must be able to work at heights.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
• Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.
• Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
• Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
