Roof Loader/ Yard Help

About the role

Gulfeagle Supply is a family-owned business that serves as a full-line distributor of residential and commercial roofing and building products. The company focuses on serving professional contractors while also offering products and services to homeowners, architects, and general contractors.

Responsibilities

• Delivery
• Load or assist in loading and securing materials on trucks daily.
• Verify the quantities of materials for accuracy.
• Locate the job site and direct the driver in placing the conveyor.
• Unload or assist in unloading materials by using forklift, crane, conveyor, and/or by hand.
• (May require walking varying distances based on job site conditions).
• Rooftop
• Climb up to a 40-foot ladder to deliver materials on a pitch of up to an 8/12 roof.
• Ensure proper stacking and distribution of materials on the roof.
• Equipment
• Ensure the truck is properly equipped for delivery, including filling coolers, strapping materials, loading ladders, and other tasks as needed.
• OSHA
• Comply with OSHA regulations related to both personal and company safety.
• Inventory
• Aid in taking inventory quarterly or as needed.
• Maintenance
• Maintain the warehouse, yard, and trucks in a proper and presentable condition.
• Perform minor repairs as needed.
• Safety
• Handle materials safely, including wearing necessary protective gear.
• Aid in the safe operation of vehicles as it relates to both customer and company properties.
• Customer Service
• Aid customers with materials, report delivery and service issues, and other as needed.

Qualifications

• Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location.
• Knowledge of roofing materials and/or construction and distribution.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climb.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds of material continuously for up to two hours at a time.
• Ability to work on multi-story buildings at various heights.
• Attention to detail to prevent damage to materials and equipment during delivery.
• Ability to maintain loyalty to Gulfeagle Supply.
• Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ability to handle all job functions in a safe manner.
• Pass substance abuse screening; employees are subject to random substance abuse screening under company policy.
