Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Prepare accurate roof and floor truss take-offs, estimates, bids, and proposals.
- Calculate material, labor, and installation costs for assigned projects.
- Rewire estimates based on design changes and customer requests.
- Cook with sales, project management, production teams, and customers.
- Develop truss and panel designs using MiTek software and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Support customers and sales staff by evaluating design requirements and resolving issues.
- Maintain accurate project records and communicate job status updates.
- Aid with change orders and ensure approved changes are properly executed.
- Analyze processes and apply improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, And Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver license.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience in estimating, design, or the building materials industry preferred.
- Familiarity with truss design, construction processes, and MiTek software (or similar) preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Experience preparing estimates, material take-offs, and cost calculations.
- Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and ability to work with sales, production, and customers.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
