Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations within assigned areas, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production performance.
- Cook up workflow and resources to minimize downtime, reduce operational disruptions, and maximize productivity.
- Supervise, coach, and develop employees, promoting a culture of accountability, engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate training and development initiatives, ensuring employees are qualified and compliant with operational procedures, safety requirements, and company standards.
- Champion a strong safety culture by administering safety programs and supporting emergency preparedness policies, procedures, and response activities.
- Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics to drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
- Ensure compliance with established standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Conduct audits, document findings, and lead corrective action plans to address gaps and improve operational performance.
- Support daily management activities and collaborate across departments to solve problems, improve processes, and achieve business objectives.
- Lead by example and foster an environment that reflects Gerdau's commitment to excellence, respect, and continuous development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution preferred.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to production systems, quality processes, standardization practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- In lieu of a degree, an additional 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing leadership experience may be accepted.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive operational results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and employee development skills.
