About the role

Waste Pro has immediate openings for energetic CDL Drivers. Every day, thousands of Waste Pro trucks serve millions of customers, requiring professional, experienced, hardworking, and dedicated individuals.

Responsibilities

• Secure containers by attaching hooks to containers, using control levers to pull containers onto the truck bed, securing straps and hand tarps as necessary.
• Provide distinguished level of service through courteous and expeditious customer service in all aspects of refuse operations for both the general public and customers.
• Exhibit a positive attitude towards company, customer, and municipal goals.
• Answer questions for customers and direct them to Customer Service or Sales Representatives for additional information.
• Operate compaction and lift equipment on the vehicle.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined by Waste Pro procedures and DOT guidelines.
• Complete Safety Lane activities and DVIRs daily according to Waste Pro safety lane guidelines, including inspections under the hood, checking under the carriage, checking fluid levels, and inflating tires.
• Maintain a clean truck and wash the exterior weekly.
• Inspect and clean the truck: lift the hood, inspect under the hood, walk around and check under the carriage; pump gas, check fluid levels, and inflate tires using an air gauge, dipstick, and gas pump nozzle.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL for the state in which the position works.
• A clean driving record.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Understanding of refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices; knowledge of Department of Transportation and State requirements for commercial motor vehicle operators.
• Normal hearing and vision with or without correction.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with customers, coworkers, dispatchers, supervisors, understand highway and traffic signals, and make legible entries on paperwork.

Other Job Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in corporation-sponsored training courses as assigned.
• Keep up-to-date on current technology used by Waste Pro as appropriate to the job.
• Any additional job duties assigned by the supervisor.
