Responsibilities

• Secure containers by attaching hooks to containers, using control levers to pull them onto the truck bed, securing straps and hand tarps as needed.
• Provide distinguished service through courteous and efficient customer service in all aspects of refuse operations.
• Exhibit a positive attitude towards the company, customers, and municipal goals.
• Answer customer questions and direct them to Customer Service or Sales Representatives for additional information.
• Operate compaction and lift equipment on the vehicle.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections according to Waste Pro procedures and DOT guidelines.
• Complete Safety Lane activities and DVIRs daily in accordance with Waste Pro safety lane guidelines.
• Inspect and clean the truck, including checking the hood, undercarriage, fluid levels, and tire pressure.
• Maintain a clean and well-groomed truck, washing the exterior weekly.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL for the state where the position is located.
• A clean driving record.
• At least 21 years old.
• Knowledge of refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines, and DOT and state requirements for commercial motor vehicle operators.
• Ability to hear and see within normal ranges, and to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions, maintain written records, and respond to customer inquiries.

Other Job Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in corporation-sponsored training courses as assigned.
• Stay updated on current technology used by Waste Pro.
• Perform any additional job duties assigned by the supervisor.

Pay

$10,000.00 driver award available every 3 years for meeting specific criteria.

Schedule

Hours vary based on the needs of the business, but typically involve shifts that can include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
