About the role

Waste Pro has immediate openings for energetic CDL Drivers. Every day, thousands of Waste Pro trucks serve millions of customers, requiring professional, experienced, hardworking, and dedicated individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Secure containers by attaching hooks to containers, using control levers to pull them onto the truck bed, securing straps and hand tarps as needed.
  • Provide distinguished level of service through courteous and expeditious customer service in all aspects of refuse operations.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude towards company, customers, and municipal goals.
  • Answer customer questions and direct them to Customer Service or Sales Representatives for additional information.
  • Operate compaction and lift equipment on the vehicle.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined by Waste Pro procedures and DOT guidelines.
  • Complete Safety Lane activities and DVIRs daily according to Waste Pro safety lane guidelines.
  • Inspect under hood, check under carriage, check fluid levels, and air tires using an air gauge, dipstick, and gas pump nozzle.
  • Maintain a clean truck and wash the exterior weekly.
  • Inspect/Clean Truck: Lift hood, inspect under the hood, walk around and check under carriage; pump gas, check fluid levels and air tires.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A or B CDL for the state where the position works.
  • Clean driving record.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Knowledge of refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines, and DOT and state requirements for commercial motor vehicle operators.
  • Normal hearing and vision with or without correction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers, coworkers, dispatchers, supervisors, understand highway and traffic signals, and make legible entries on paperwork.

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in corporation-sponsored training courses as assigned.
  • Stay updated on current technology used by Waste Pro.
  • Perform any additional job duties assigned by the Supervisor.
